Biography

Background Joseph Schmidt was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY. He obtained his high school diploma from Arlington Senior High School, Freedom Plains, NY. He graduated earlier than his class to enter the U.S. Navy in January 1981. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy until March 1993. He joined the U.S. Naval reserves after leaving active duty. Joseph retired from the U.S. Navy/U.S. Naval Reserves in June 2001. He attended Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, NY from September 1993 to May 1997 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Joseph then attended the New School University, New York, NY and obtained a Master of Science degree in Health Care Management.
